At Old Town Event Center, we believe the most meaningful gatherings are the ones that bring people together for something bigger than themselves.
Recently, our space had the honor of hosting a silent auction benefiting Pat’s Place Child Advocacy Center in Charlotte, and it was an evening that reminded us exactly why community spaces matter.
For those who may not know, Pat’s Place serves children and families in our region who have experienced abuse, providing a safe, supportive environment where healing and justice can begin. Their work is both delicate and powerful—standing beside children during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
To welcome an organization doing that kind of work into our building was truly an honor.

The evening itself was filled with energy and generosity. Guests moved through the room browsing auction items, sharing conversations, and rallying around a shared goal: supporting the children and families who rely on Pat’s Place.
There’s something special that happens when a room full of people comes together with a purpose. The laughter, the friendly bidding wars, the quiet moments of reflection—it all created a night that felt both joyful and meaningful.
Events like these remind us that a venue is more than just walls and tables. It becomes a place where people gather, where causes are championed, and where community shows up for one another.
We’re incredibly grateful to have played a small part in an evening dedicated to such important work.

To the team at Pat’s Place, and to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, and supported the auction—thank you for allowing us to host such a meaningful event.
It was a wonderful night, and one we won’t soon forget.
